Fifteen animal rescue groups from around the Middle Georgia area are gathering together April 21 for the Seventh Annual Rescue Day at Tractor Supply Company in Byron, a Save a Pet news release says.

Along with the rescue groups, others are joining them to help get pets adopted, keeping your pet health and well trained, and sharing fun activities to do with your dog.

Along with pet adoptions, there will be a vaccination clinic, children’s fun dog show, pony rides, dog training demonstrations, dog cart demonstrations and rides and information about involved in pet therapy.

Rescue organizations participating this year are Greyhounds Galore, Save A Pet, Humane Society of Houston County, Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation, All About Animals, FURever Friends, Peach County Animal Rescue, Starbright Animal Rescue, The Rescue Ranch, PAWS for Hope and Faith, Georgia Equine Rescue League, Macon Purrs and Paws, Warner Robins Animal Control, STARZ and PETS. Most of these groups will have animals available for adoption or information about adoptable animals.

Other businesses involved to help raise awareness of animal rescue and animal health and wellbeing are Peach Veterinary Care of Fort Valley, Anelanai Dog Training of Bryon,Thunder Dawgs Training of Hawkinsville, and  Therapups and Reading PAWS.

Dr. Lori Giles and Dr. Holli K. LeVert of Peach Veterinary Care of  Fort Valley will conduct a vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m..  Rabies will be $9,      Distemper will be $20, K9 Bordetella will be $10,   Feline Leukemia will be $20,    Microchip will be $20, and a Nail Trim will be $10.

Anelanai Dog Training will host a childrens’ dog show beginning at 11 a.m. The classes for the show include oldest, most obedient (well-behaved), best trick and sweetest. They will also have obedience and agility demonstratons.The show is open to children 14 and youngerand is free. GERL will have pony rides and Thunder Dawg will have demonstrations with dog carts and rides available for young children.  Therapups and Reading PAWS will have therapy dogs on hand and show how dogs assist in therapy and learning to read.  Tractor Supply Co. is located at 6010 Watson Blvd.  It is on the corner of Watson Blvd. and US Hwy. 41.  For more information
