Robins Airman to Receive Bronze Star Medal with Valor

Master Sgt. Gene B. Jameson III receives a Bronze Star medal with valor this week for his service in Afghanistan, according to a Robins Air Force Base news release.

While in Afghanistan, Jameson directed heavy equipment efforts to combat a 5-acre fire caused an enemy rocket attack.

 "On his fourth trip into the compound, he discovered two crates of grenades and shoulder-launched missiles only 10 feet from advancing flames.  His crisis leadership during the five-hour ordeal prevented the munitions from detonating and saved the lives of 50 personnel battling the blaze," according to the release.

Colonel Joseph Scherrer, the 689th Combat Communications Wing Commander, presents the medal to Master Sgt. Jameson Thursday at 2 p.m. That's in Robins' South training area.

Gas has been seen at $2.96 at the corner of Russell Parkway and Houston Lake Road.

Another viewer said its also $2.96 at Kroger on Highway 96.

The Museum of Aviation’s exhibit Tuskegee Airmen: A Proud Heritage has received the 2012 U.S. Air Force Heritage Award.  The exhibit was also recognized earlier this year when it won the Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries (GAMG) Museum Exhibition of the Year Award.

ATLANTA – Sen. Cecil Staton (R- Macon) has received the highest ranking given on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Scorecard. The Chamber’s legislative scorecard recognizes legislators that were most supportive of the business community during the 2012 Legislative Session.
