ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – The Aerospace Industry Committee of Warner Robins is hosting a forum Wednesday to discuss the policies, processes and procedures that drive acquisition strategies and decision-making process at Robins AFB.

Experts from the Robins Small Business Office, the Judge Advocate’s Office, and other organizations will outline the details behind the procurement and contracting programs at Robins.

This forum will provide valuable information for companies and small businesses planning to do business with Robins Air Force Base.

One dies in Highway 247 accident

According to the Houston County Sheriff's Office, one person is dead after a two-car accident on Highway 247.

It happened just before 8 this morning, on Old Hawkinsville Road.

Lieutenant Brad Stone of the Houston County Sheriff's Department says the person died on the scene.

The accident blocked Hwy 247 north.

Monroe County rides out ice storm

With thousands in Central Georgia without power, Monroe County was no exception. Some residents we spoke to off of Sutton Road said they'd been without power since 4 p.m.

Ice storm brings power outages

Georgia utility companies say more than 177,000 customers were without power as ice coated trees brought branches and power lines down.

Georgia Power reported that more than 104,000 customers were without power shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

More than 71,000 of them were in metro Atlanta. Another 29,000 customers were in eastern Georgia; and 1,340 were without power in parts of west Georgia.
