Senior Leaders at Robins AFB Win It All At the First Robins Cup Golf Tournament

Warner Robins, GA- Major General Bob McMahon and senior leaders from Robins Air Force Base united with community leaders from throughout the Robins Region to win it all in a very close match during the first-ever Robins Cup Golf Tournament.

Sponsored by the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and State Bank & Trust Company, the event’s purpose was for leaders to have a day of fun while appreciating and further enhancing the already great relationship between Robins Air Force Base and the local community.

The event matched Major General Bob McMahon and 35 senior Robins AFB leaders with 36 community leaders who competed in an 18 hole, two person scramble, match play event.  Both Robins AFB and community leaders alike thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to network and strengthen ties during the event.

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to spend time with members of this world-class community.  We are also proud to display the Robins Cup on base until next year's challenge- that should give Eddie Wiggins time to work on his short-game."

The Robins Cup will be retained by the winning team until surrendered in a subsequent annual Robins Cup challenge.  The goal is to continue the event as an annual tradition in order to preserve and maintain the connection between the base and local community.  Both the community team and Robins AFB leaders took part in a reception prior to and following the tournament at Houston Lake Country Club; host of the April 6th event.
