Robins Regional Military Affairs Committee Hosts 2nd Annual Community Golf Tournament Featuring RAFB

Warner Robins, GA- The Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee will host the 2nd Annual Robins Cup Golf Challenge, May 3, 2013 at Houston Lake Country Club. The purpose of the event is to have a day of fun while appreciating and further enhancing the already great relationship between Robins Air Force Base and the local community.

“The Robins Cup highlights the community’s strong relationship with Robins Air Force Base in a fun and competitive fashion,” said Morgan Law, President of the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The event will match 36 senior leaders from Robins Air Force Base with 36 community leaders competing in an 18 hole, two person scramble, match play event.

What is at stake? The "coveted" Robins Cup, which is currently being held by Robins Air force Base.  The Robins Cup and associated bragging rights will be retained by the winning team until surrendered in a subsequent annual Robins Cup challenge.  The 2012 Robins Cup was won by the Robins Air Force Base team.

“I fully expect to see the community team even the score this year.  Community Team Captain Major General Bob McMahon, USAF Retired assures me that while we may not have a Tiger Woods or Adam Scott on the community’s team, we will win the day in 2013,” said Law.

The schedule of events includes the following:

May 2nd: 5:30-7:30 p.m.: Golf Pairing Sunset Reception with players & spouse/guest, Robins Senior Staff & spouse/guest, Military Affairs & Chamber Board members & spouse/guest

May 3rd: 11:30 a.m.: Players Lunch

May 3rd: 1 p.m.: Golf: shot gun start
